What are sworn translations?
Sworn translations are translations of documents done by a certified sworn translator with legal and official status, recognised by government authorities, courts and institutions. I am enrolled in the national Belgian register for Spanish, Catalan, Dutch, French and English, and in the Spanish register of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Dutch, French and Spanish. From December 2022, sworn translations in Belgium carry a certified digital signature guaranteeing authenticity.
What are sworn translations for?
Sworn translations are required for immigration procedures, visa applications, academic records, legal documents, contracts, wills and many more official situations. These translations are accepted as valid evidence in legal and administrative proceedings. If your translation is to be used abroad, I also manage the legalisation process by apostille, certifying my signature with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
